INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTRATION
Registraion runs from 15 July to 29 July and then starts again on 4 September. You will be sent specific information by the Campus Secretariat, but you can also consult the general information.
Before registering, you are advised to:
1. Consult the Course Guide where you can find all the subjects taught on the degree, with important information such as content, number of credits, types of activities (theory, problems, laboratory, etc.) and assessment format.
2. Check the subjects timetables
It's very important to check the subject timetables before registering to ensure that you do not register for overlapping subjects.
3.Read the 'Recommendations for new students' (only available in Catalan)
Read the recommendations carefully, they will help you choose which groups to register for.
Registration How group selection works:
-
Each subject can have different groups depending on the type of activity:
M: Theory (lectures)
P: Problems
L: Laboratory
During self-registration:
You must register for the theory groups (M) for all your first-year subjects.
Exception: if your degree includes Technical English, you must register for the problem group (P) for this subject.
You will be able to choose the group that works best for you from among those available.
The system will first show you the group with the most free places, but you can choose a different one if it suits your schedule better.
Special cases:
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematical Engineering and Physics and Double Degrees: For these degrees you cannot choose a group, as there is only one. Your registration is pre-prepared. The Campus Secretary will send you an email explaining the process and a form that you must complete and return. The Campus Secretary will then process your registration.
For any questions or clarifications about registration, please contact the Sescelades Campus Secretariat for Academic Management, registration unit: matricula.scs(ELIMINAR)@urv.cat
Later, through Moodle:
You will be able to choose the problem (P) and/or laboratory (L) groups from the remaining subjects available. We recommend considering various group options that fit in with your timetables so that you have alternatives available in the event that when you choose a group you find that it is already full.
⚠️ Remember to check the timetables for each group to avoid overlapping subjects.
ACADEMIC CALENDAR, CLASS AND EXAM SCHEDULES
On the School's website you can find up-to-date information on the academic calendar (course dates, public holidays, etc.), classes and exam schedules. We recommend that you review the information just before the start of classes, as there may be variations.
For any other questions, suggestions or complaints, you can always contact us through the Contact mailbox.
YOUR URV DIGITAL USERNAME
Once you have registered, the URV will assign you a username and e-mail address, which you will be able to use approximately 24 hours after registration. Your information will be sent to the email address you provided.
Your username gives you access to, among other things, the URV intranet, the ETSE intranet and the Moodle Virtual Campus. Your email address is where you will receive all official communications from the URV and the teaching staff.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that you:
- Activate your e-mail address and access the Virtual Campus
- Regularly check your URV email
- You use your URV email for all procedures
Username and initial passwords. Your username is your NIF/ NIE/Passport (NIF format 12345678-A) and your initial password will be your date of birth in the format DD-MMM-YY. Example: 02-MAI-78. The month MMM is the first three letters of the name of the month in Catalan: GEN, FEB, MAR, ABR, MAI, JUN, JUL, AGO, SET, OCT, NOV, DES.
Email address. Your email address usually has the format name.surname@estudiants.urv.cat (with minor variations depending on the student's name) and your password is the same as your URV username.

SYNTHESIS CLASSES
From 2 to 10 September (both inclusive) we hold what we call synthesis classes (or Course Zero), which aims to consolidate your understanding of Mathematics and Physics from your previous stage of education. Classes from 2 to 5 September will be face-to-face, and from 8 to 10 September they will be online, which can be followed at the scheduled time and will be recorded for those who cannot connect. These classes do not involve any additional cost to the registration and it is not compulsory to attend but, they can be very useful for getting you up to speed and approaching the first course with more confidence. We especially recommend it for:
- All students who have completed training cycles.
- All students who have NOT taken the subjects during their upper secondary education.
- All students who have not taken the university entrance examination in the subject.
- All students who got a grade of 5 or below in the university entrance examination.
- All students who have studied Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences.
Approximately one day after you have registered you will be able to access the URV Virtual Campus with your URV username and password. There you will find the two Course Zero spaces, which will give you all the information you need about these courses.
The timetable and rooms for these classes depend on the degree that you have registered for:
- Group E: Students on the Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronic and Automatic Engineering, Telecommunications Systems and Services Engineering and the Double Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering:
9:45-11:45 |
Physics |
Room 201 |

Students on the double degree GEE-GEEIA and GEI-BioT will also find a Course Zero in Chemistry, which they can also attend. This Course Zero is only for these double degrees. Timetables and classrooms are indicated on the Virtual Campus for the Chemistry course.
If you are registered for a degree that does not appear in this list but you meet any of the five criteria indicated above, you should contact the academic secretary of the ETSE at setse(ELIMINAR)@urv.cat
FOUNDATION CLASSES FOR FUTURE GEMIF STUDENTS
Between 2 and 5 September, we will provide key information to facilitate the beginning of the GEMiF. All sessions will be in room 213 from 10.00 to 13.00. The schedule will be as follows:

ACADEMIC TUTORING
The tutor is a faculty/school lecturer who will give you continuous support during your time as a student at the URV regarding the issues and problems that can emerge as part of university life.
Your tutor is assigned to you a few days after you register and will remain with you for as long as you are on the programme. After registration, you will be given access to the Virtual Campus, where you will be able to access the subject materials, and also to the Academic Tutoring space so that you can interact with your tutor.
You will find the contact details of your tutor in the tutorial area of the Virtual Campus and on the website of your department:
- DEIM Department of Computer Engineering and Mathematics
- DEEEA Department of Electronic, Electrical and Automatic Engineering
- DEM Department of Mechanical Engineering
The first tutorial session will be held on Induction Day. The tutor will explain the usefulness of tutorials while you are studying at the University and give you an annual schedule. You will also be able to consult any doubts you may have about the ETSE's degree programmes, the Campus, the classrooms and laboratories, the services offered by the URV, continuous assessment, etc. There will usually be three tutorial sessions during the year: at the beginning of the year, at the end of the first semester and at the end of the year. In addition to these sessions, you can contact the tutor at any time you need to. During the degree, you can use the tutoring sessions to discuss topics such as optional subjects, mobility abroad, internships, your Bachelor's Thesis, etc.
You can find more information about tutories here.
START OF CLASSES
Classes for first-year subjects will begin on 8 September. All the information that the teaching staff believes to be important will be uploaded to the subject on the Virtual Campus.
It is very important that you read this information before the start of the course.
