When bachelor's degrees were first implemented, one of the steps taken by ETSE to improve the performance of students in 1st-year subjects was to give them the chance of repeating some subjects in semesters other than those originally planned.
This makes it easier for them to pass a basic first-year subject as soon as possible, allowing them to deviate as little as possible from the theoretical curriculum of the degree and to progress.
In this process, tutors are very important, and students must discuss with them the best option for their specific situation.
The subjects involved and their repetition process are listed below:

Who can ask to repeat, how and when:
- Except for the Fundamentals of Programming/Fundamentals of Programming I, those students who failed one or more of these subjects during the previous academic year can choose the group "MR" during the period of ordinary registration (July-September) so that they can repeat them during the second semester, or choose the normal first-semester group (M1/M2/M3/M4 depending on the degree programme). Be careful to choose the group well and select the semester that is best for you. If you have any doubts, ask your tutor.
- The students who register for these subjects in the first semester and do not pass them can re-register in the second semester in the group "MR" (they can decide to cancel their registration for some second-semester subjects). To do so they must submit the following application form to the Sescelades Campus Secretariat for Academic Management. Access to online procedures is available on the URV intranet. Select the option "Other" and attach the form indicated". To prepare the application, arrange to see your tutor, who will advise you and approve any changes you wish to make. This process must be done in the period of registration modification in February. To check the exact dates for this academic year, consult the Secretary (ETSE Modifications: same deadline as the Waiver of subjects).
Things to bear in mind: The modification of the registration for this repetition requires the payment of the number of credits for second-semester subjects plus the corresponding surcharge for repetition and the registration modification fee. The cost of the credits of those second-semester subjects that are cancelled will be refunded as long as they are the ones recommended to comply with the sequence of courses (check the form to see which ones these are).
IMPORTANT: The number of places on each subject is limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Who can ask to repeat, how and when:
- Those students who failed one or more of these subjects during the previous academic year can choose the group "MR" during the period of ordinary registration (July-September) so that they can repeat them during the first semester, or choose the normal second-semester group (M1/M2/M3/M4 depending on the degree programme).
- Those students who cancelled their registration for one or more of these subjects in the previous academic year and wish to repeat in the first semester must initially choose a second-semester group (M1/M2/M3/M4 depending on the degree programme) and then, in September, they have to ask the Sescelades Campus Secretariat for Academic Management (no extra charge) for a change to the first-semester "MR" group.
In both cases above, if students still have not passed them by the end of the first semester, they have the option (not the obligation) to enrol again in the second semester in accordance with the procedure outlined in point 1 (repetition of first-semester subjects).
